Finnish Nůž (Damascus, Karelian Birch)
Manufacturer: company "LEMAX" Pavlovo
The Finnish Nůž is a special type of Nůž that spread in the first half of the 20th century in the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union. The popularity of knives from Finland (puukko) has led to the fact that almost every Nůž with straight blade and butt bevel ("pike") in Russia has started to be called Finnish, regardless of the place of production. This Nůž model is used for hunting, fishing and hiking. With this Nůž, the blade goes from the butt to the cone, giving the blade some elegance.
Combining different ocelplates with different carbon contents, followed by welding, reloading and forging, gives us an inimitable damask pattern. Iron is generally soft and easily deformable, while carbon ocelis hard and elastic. Thus, metal layers with very high and very low carbon content were alternated. Soft iron layers prevent the metal from becoming too brittle, and high carbon layers give the necessary elasticity and sharpness.
The manufacturer reserves the right to unilaterally make changes to the product and its components that do not affect the quality of the product (drawings on the blade, handle, scabbard, marking, shade colors, etc.)
